It’s been a humbling two years since we moved out of the Makeshift Live/Work Studio, expanded our facilities, and opened it up for general rental. We’ve learned a lot, and you’ll be excited to hear that we are applying some of those lessons to our rental and pricing model!
We are excited to share what we’ve been helping out with these past few weeks! A few Makeshift members (notably Khanh Tudo and Thompson Nguyen) have been hard at work building installations for Invisible Footprints 0.2: Deep Cuts. The exhibition opens tonight, and aims to visualize and document the lived experiences of Toronto’s queer and trans East and Southeast Asians. Come tonight to mingle with artists, see performances, and enjoy some music and refreshments. Tonight also marks the opening of the Gardiner’s Community Arts Space. Invisible Footprints will be the first exhibit to be held in this gorgeous space.
